Torch was formed in the early 80's and released three records. They had some success and did
tours both as opening act and as headline.
The first time I met singer Dan Dark was at a gig I did with Seventh Sign in 2005. He played with
a Accept tribute band called Except. I didn't know right away who he was but during our conversation
he told me about his other band, Torch. Since I'm a Torch fan I thought that was really cool.
We kept in touch, but it wasn't until late 2009 he needed a drummer for an all new line-up of Torch.
I didn't heitate.
The first gig we did was as opening act to UDO. During my time in the band we did 5 gigs, in 1½ year(!).
The problem was that we all lived in different parts of Sweden wich made it very hard to rehearse and
make it to any possible gig. There were talk about doing a new album and we did have some new tunes
in the making. But the previous line-up had signed a record deal that we couldn't be set free from, unless
we hired some good lawyers. That, and that the other guys were willing to tour for free made me leave
the band. I jumped a sinking ship.
